Mallotus villosus — Capelin Capelan Atlantique Lodde

Capelin is an arctic salmonid that spends most of the year roaming the Arctic Ocean where it feeds on small crustaceans.

In the winter and spring it migrates in large quantities into the coast of Finnmark and Murmansk to spawn. Local stocks are found in the fjords in Nordland and Nord-Trøndelag. Capelin is an important link in the food chain. The species is found from the surface down to 300 m deep.

Hopen Fisk has receives and produces capelin. The product is graded, packed and frozen according to customer’s requirements and specifications.
